Two Nigerians and an Isreali arrested for smuggling $9.3m into SA

South African police are currently investigating two Nigerians and an Israeli citizen who tried to smuggle $9.3 million in cash into the country on September 5th.

According to South Africa's City Press newspaper, the money which was in bundles of unused $100 bills packed in three suitcase were transported in a small business jet, a bombadier Challenger 600 with a Nigerian crew and piloted by Captain Tunde Ojongbede. Continue...

Usher ready to tie the knot again?

Looks like Usher is thinking about settling down again. A few weeks after mentioning in an interview that he hoped his ex-wife Tameka Raymond would stop using his last name if he ever married again, Usher admits he's getting closer to tying the knot again.

In an interview on Extra with Angie Martinez Usher said;

“I’ve been even more excited about the idea of it. It could be the fact that I’ve spent the last year at everybody’s damn wedding, like I’ve become damn near the wedding singer, know what I mean?”

Usher has been dating his manager and Def Jam exec Grace Miguel, 47, since 2009.

A Seattle woman has been charged with raping a man who told cops he awoke in his bed to find his attacker sexually assaulting him while she had his hands pinned down, according to a police report. Chantae Gilman, 26, was charged this week in connection with the alleged June 2013 attack inside the 31-year-old victim’s Seattle apartment. Man arraigned in court for allegedly raping foreigner

A 34-year-old man, Fabian Anyanwu, who allegedly assaulted and raped a 22-year-old Cameroonian lady,on Monday appeared before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos today.

Anyanwu, a resident of 721 Road, D Close, Block 2, Festac Town, Lagos, is standing trial on a two-count charge of assault and rape. The prosecutor, Cpl. John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on August 15 at his residence. Continue...

Abuja prostitute bags 100 days imprisonment for stealing customer's N500k

A 23 year old prostitute named Rosemary Ebikeme has been sentenced to 100 days in prison by an Abuja court for stealing a customer's $3,200 (about N500,000).

The senior magistrate, Abdulahi Ilaleh, of Life Camp Senior magistrate’s court, Abuja, convicted Rosemary after she pleaded guilty to a one-count charge, however, gave her an option of N5,000 fine.

Ilaleh cautioned the convict to desist from the crime, saying that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to others. Continue...

Daniele, who took to Facebook to share her ordeal, said she was with her husband Brian James on a busy street in Hollywood on September 2nd and a few minutes after the couple kissed, policemen (who had been called by unknown persons) approached them and asked to see their ID cards. Nigerian man dies after jumping off 3rd floor during drug raid in India

A 35 year old Nigerian man named Obyeka Anwanbukwa suspected to be involved in drugs peddling died on Saturday September 13th after jumping from the window of a third floor flat from a high rise (pictured above) during a drug raid in Akash Bhavan in th eBhaunagar area of Pimple Gurav in India

According to reports, a joint team of India's Narcotic Control Bureau, NCB, and some police officers, stormed the apartment where the deceased and his other Nigerian friends were staying around 8 on Saturday night and while being interrogated, Obyeka allegedly ran off and jumped from the 3rd floor of the building. This is a dead pic of a robber who got electrocuted while trying to steal cable from a transformer just beside a house on Iju road by Lonlo bus stop. He apparently tried to steal the cable in the very early hours of today when he got electrocuted and remained in that position until residents woke up this morning. Residents say they are waiting for Government officials to come and carry his dead body.

Four die, one missing in Lagos boat mishap

A speed boat belonging to Oke’ra-Nla Boat Association in the Ajah area of Lagos over the weekend capsized leaving four people dead with one person missing

According to reports, the boat, with 22 passengers on board, was heading towards Bayeku from Oke-Ira when it capsized. While some witnesses say the boat hit a stone as it ferried along the waters, other accounts say another boat hit it from behind after the ill-fated boat experienced boisterous water waves which the boat could not control from behind, resulting in it capsizing. According to Vanguard, Seventeen persons were rescued while four bodies identified to be the bodies of some carpenters who were returning from Ajah after a week long job there were recovered. One person's body is yet to be found. Reports say some pf the passengers refused to wear their life jackets for fear of contracting the deadly Ebola virus.     

Meanwhile the owner of the boat as well as the operator of the boat are currently being questioned by the police and the Lagos State Waterways Agency,  LASWA.

Comedian Princess speaks once again about her failed marriage, says negative media contributed to it

Comedienne Princess Damilola was a guest on YNaija's Rubbin Minds today September 14th and she once again spoke about her failed marriage.

Princess, who revealed her marriage ended just two weeks after her wedding in May 2013, said negative media contributed to the failure of her marriage.

"Its like a mystery. It was based on the fact that individual differences came up and after the two weeks when the marriage ended, I didn't think it was something of joy for me to start announcing to everyone and then my family and the guy's family believed that we could all make it work so we started trying to see how...and then I think around July things came back, wasn't too smooth but we were determined to make it work and that is the most important thing but when everything finally ended, it was really very painful and all that but I didn't tell anybody."
